The comedian will soon be seen in a new stunt-based reality show; says that she isn’t interested in doing films currently, and that she needs to establish herself on TV before that.

Comedian Bharti Singh has proved her talent in various comedy shows. Now the 29-year-old is ready to take on a different role. She has signed up for the Indian version of the American reality show, I Can Do That, which will see many celebrities perform stunts and other entertaining acts. Bharti, who will also be seen in another comedy show, talks about trying new things, not being interested in films presently, and more.

Why did you choose to do a stunt-based show?

I wanted to do a show that was challenging. Since this one will involve a number of stunts, it will not only be different, but also truly challenging professionally. People think of me as a comedian, but I proved myself in a dance reality show. And now, this will be Bharti Singh in a new avatar. I am very scared though.

After Comedy Circus, you are now doing yet another comedy show. Why?

As per my face and figure, I think I am most suited to comedy shows (laughs). I can do them well, so I try to stick to them. The format of the comedy show is fun. We are all enjoying ourselves, and I hope the audience enjoys as well.

Your peers, Krushna Abhishek, Kapil Sharma, and Sunil Grover, have dabbled in movies. Don’t you wish to work on the big screen?

I want to give TV my best shot before turning to films. I haven’t established myself well on the small screen yet. Moreover, many famous stars are doing TV these days. The medium has a wide reach, and is watched by audiences from every strata of society. As for the people you have mentioned, many of them are my seniors and gurus, and I am lucky to get the opportunity to work on the same platform as them. I am happy that they are doing movies, and would like them to enjoy this moment. I will get my chance later. I am not interested in doing films right now.

Do you want to have your own TV show?

I don’t have the faith in myself to take on a solo show yet. I believe there is strength in unity, which is why I stick to ensemble comedy shows.
