Director, choreographer, actor, producer, HT Cafe columnist... Farah Khan wears many hats. And now she is back on TV, in a role she is very familiar with. Along with filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Kirron Kher, Farah will now join the judging panel of the reality show India’s Got Talent. What that effectively means, is an exit for actor Malaika Arora Khan.
Ask Farah if she is Malaika’s replacement, and she clarifies, “Not really. When the channel asked me to do the show, I didn’t have dates as I was busy with promoting Joker and Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi. Yet they said they were keen on having me on board, so they got Malaika to judge the audition rounds and signed me for the quarter finals leading to the finale stage.”
Having judged numerous TV reality shows like Nach Baliye, Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa etc, is judging on television just a cakewalk for her now? “It isn’t a cakewalk, but not a great hardship either. You have to reinvent yourself with each show. The tricky part about being a judge is to find something interesting to say each time. You have to find an angle which makes sense. I can’t complain though, as I will get to watch great acts and spend time with my friends Karan and Kirron... And I get paid well too.”
This time (after having lost some weight) Farah is keen to show off her new wardrobe. “I will look sexier than the usual in dresses, over the kurtis I wore earlier. I’m replacing Malaika, so I have to look good.”
