Back to playing Sati on the popular TV show, Mahadev, Mouni Roy admits that she is glad to be back; even if for a short span of time.

The show gave her name and fame as well as an alleged boyfriend (co-star Mohit Raina).

While Mouni refrains from talking about her personal life, in this interview, she reveals that she’s a bit lazy and not very ambitious.

Though Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was a huge launch for you, would you say Mahadev gave you the most recognition?

Yes, I’d say so. Kyunki... was a huge show and the popularity I got was instant. People loved my character (Krishna Tulsi). Later, they came to know the real me in Zara Nach Ke Dikha, where I showed my dancing prowess. It established me as a dancer. Mahadev got me most recognition. But I have to say that post Kyunki... I was offered everything under the sun. Being an outsider, who didn’t have to work too hard, I was overwhelmed.

So, you aren’t an ambitious person?

I’m not ambitious; it is clear in my choice of work. I am fine doing a few dance shows in a month to run my household and take care of myself. I don’t believe in doing one thing after another. I am a bit lazy, laidback and a happy-go-lucky person. I don’t fret too much. I enjoy living in the moment. If I have too much, then I get confused and distressed. I believe one shouldn’t overwork, though many people won’t agree with my statement, especially being in this industry.

While you have spoken about what you like about Mohit Raina, what is it that you don’t like about him?

He is very particular about things and it gets irritating after a point.

Do you think rumours of a link-up between the lead pair helps a show?

No, TV is about the script and characters. Audiences connect with them.

For you, how important is it for love to be acknowledged in public?

I don’t want to talk about my personal life.

When do you see yourself getting married?

Not anytime soon, and I really want people to let me be.

http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/Popup/2012/3/Devon Ke Dev Mahadev.jpgBeing a good dancer, haven’t item songs or movies come your way?

A big film or item song hasn’t been offered to me. I got roles from good production houses, though I wasn’t keen on them as I was asked to — and I won’t — wear a bikini in a film. I’m not conservative, as I’d wear it on holidays, but definitely not in front of the camera. I have to think of my family. As for dance numbers, the concept or the film wasn’t that great, so I didn’t do them.

A question you have been asked numerous times?

When are you getting married?

A question you never want to answer?

I answer all questions put forth by my friends and family and, even if I don’t have an answer, I make sure I give them one.

A habit you want to get rid of?

I am very emotional and impulsive.

A funny rumour you’ve heard about yourself?

Almost two years ago, I’d heard that I am leaving everything and settling abroad.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done in your life?

As a teenager, my friends and I jumped the gates of my hostel in Delhi to go to this haunted fort and look for a ghost. We wanted to find one, and we only found an owl. Yet, it was a fun trek to the fort.
