Sreeram Chandra has won Season 5 of the TV show, Indian Idol, and has, in his kitty, a one-year contract with Sony BMG, R 50 lakh as prize money, an opportunity to sing in Yashraj Films’ next, a car and a motorbike.

Sreeram Chandra from Hyderabad has won Season 5 of the TV show,

Indian Idol

, and has, in his kitty, a one-year contract with Sony BMG, R 50 lakh as prize money, an opportunity to sing in Yashraj Films’ next, a car and a motorbike. An excited Sreeram spoke to HT City. “I feel on top of the world. Amitabh Bachchan giving me the trophy was the biggest moment of my life.”



About his participation in the talent hunt, he says, “It was an amazing experience. I got a chance to sing in the presence of so many big celebrities, as well as the audience. This will help me stay excited and sing better everyday.”



Sreeram, who has previously sung jingles in the South, plans to make it big in Bollywood. “I plan to shift to Mumbai. I will now concentrate on film music and make a career in it.” So whom does this Indian Idol idolise? “I take inspiration from every great singer that I listen to, especially Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, AR Rahman and Shankar Mahadevan.”



He celebrated by partying with his family and the show’s crew.
