The never-ending rivalry between India and Pakistan always makes for good entertainment — in sports or reality shows. The recently launched reality show, Foodistan, too, is smitten by this historic rivalry.

The food-based show, that premiered on Monday on NDTV Good Times, will pitch professional chefs from India against those of Pakistan, competing with each other, in team as well as individual challenges. The chefs will be judged by a panel comprising noted food critic Vir Sanghvi, Pakistani-French actor Sonya Jehan and British chef Merrilees Parker.

The show is hosted by actors Ira Dubey and Aly Khan. Visibly excited about the show, Ira, who was last seen in Sonam Kapoor-starrer Aisha, says, “Though there are many food-based shows, they mainly focus on recipes. I can assure you that our show has many twists and surprises, especially because of the contestants being from across the border. It has been a quite an enriching and learning experience for me.”

Talking about the show, Aly says, “To begin with, I think there is no denying that the love for food is something that binds the two nations inspite of differences. Personally, shooting for this show was great. It has a blend of a great concept, good food and of course the Indo-Pak connect.”
