He’s played the hero on-screen many times, but Iqbal Khan turned real-life saviour for an elderly man recently. The incident took place at a hilly location inside Filmcity in Goregaon.

"On April 15, when he was shooting for his show, Tumhari Paakhi, a senior citizen who had come to meet someone on the sets, was reversing his car and lost control of it. The vehicle skidded and went down a steep slope," says an eyewitness, adding, "Everyone was stunned when they heard a loud noise, which must have been the car hitting a boulder. Unit members ran towards the sound and saw this elderly person hanging on to a tree branch. He must have jumped out when the car started rolling down and was unable to pull himself up. Without any hesitation, Iqbal went ahead and pulled him up."

The crew and cast were shocked to witness this filmi scene. "Iqbal even got a chair for him and looked after the man. The victim was so shook up that he was speechless for a long time. A doctor was called on the sets, and thankfully he only had some bruises," the source adds.

When asked about the incident, Iqbal doesn’t give out details, only saying, “These deeds are what you can take away in life.”
