True friendship is unconditional. Irrespective of how busy you are, a friend never complains about not catching up. This holds true for actors, who, because of their long working hours, rarely get to spend time with their pals. On Friendship Day (August 7), some popular TV actors talk about their close friends.

Hiten Tejwani’s friendship with actor Rajnesh Duggal grew because of their children. They also did a film together.

Hiten Tejwani

I have many close friends in the industry, including Karan Patel, who has been really busy of late. Yash Tonk and Ram Kapoor are also my friends among many others. We don’t meet often due to our hectic schedules. But whenever we do catch up, it feels like there wasn’t a gap. I am also close to Rajneesh Duggal. I stay in regular touch with him. We became friends when our kids started going to the same school. My kids and his daughter share the same birthday too. Later, we did a film together, which brought us closer.

Aamir Ali has been friends with actors Ayaz Khan and Harman Baweja since they both started their acting careers.

I stay in touch with my close friends, most of whom are from outside the industry. My close buddies from the industry include Harman Baweja, Ajaz Khan and Shabir Ahluwalia, among others. We started our acting careers together and have become good friends over the years. We are close and even if work or other commitments keep us busy, and we aren’t able to meet, all it takes is a phone call to catch up. I can call them my 4am friends.

Ekta Kapoor has been my close friend for 15 years. She is more like family. She has guided me and has always been there for me. We both might be busy with our work commitments, but we try to meet as often as possible. We love taking off on holidays, which gives us ample time to catch up. We went to Lonavla this June.

Having good friends is a blessing. I am glad I have so many close friends, including Ravi Dubey, Karan Wahi and Suyyash Rai, among others. I cherish the time I have spent with them. I am glad to have friends from the industry. They have helped me set aside the myth that you can’t have real friends in this field.
