Although many may feel that being an actor is a luxury, actor Sudhanshu Pandey, who is known for his roles in films such as Singham (2011) and Singh Is Kinng (2008), chooses to disagree. The 41-year-old says that being an actor requires you to be in perfect shape all the time, which can get very challenging.

“As an actor you need to be fit all the time. Unlike other people who can take it easy at times, an actor does not have that luxury. You need to look your best all the time. People expect that from you,” says Sudhanshu.

Other than this, Sudhanshu says that nothing’s been tough in his profession. “I have never found any of my characters challenging. The way I approach every character is very different. I attempt every character with a cool mind. I feel this helps me perform better,” he says.

In fact, the actor says that he has never believed in method acting. “When you try to do too much for your character, it becomes mechanical after a point. I have never really believed in method acting. I feel that the maximum preparation which you can do for your roles is working on the physical aspect of your character. It’s important to look the part. After that, you just need to go with your instinct,” he says.

The actor, who is currently part of the second season of Anil Kapoor’s 24, says that he doesn’t believe in taking up too many projects simultaneously. “I can’t connect myself to too many things at the same time. I never take up too many projects together because I cannot give it my all. Right now I am working on the show and on my film Robot alongside actor Rajnikanth. But I am on the lookout for something good on TV,” he says.
