After Telugu stars such as Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi, it’s the turn of actor Junior NTR to leave a mark in the television medium. We had already reported that he will be hosting the Telugu version of popular reality show, Bigg Boss, and on Tuesday it was officially confirmed. This is NTR’s first foray into television. Indeed, it is one of the biggest small screen forays in south India in recent times. With his natural spontaneity and talent, NTR will play an extremely crucial role in being the only link between the audience and around a dozen celebrities who will be placed inside a locked house.
Apparently, the actor will be paid more than what Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi made for their appearance on the show Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu, the Telugu version of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Reliable source said NTR will be paid a whopping Rs 25 crore for his television avatar. On taking up the project, NTR said in a statement, “Television is one of the biggest mediums for entertainment. When I was approached by Star MAA to host Bigg Boss, the biggest ever show on Telugu Television, I was intrigued by the challenge. I believe that the show will be a game changer.”
On the career front, NTR is busy shooting for Jai Lava Kusa. In the film, he plays triple role and will be seen romancing Nivetha Thomas and Raashi Khanna. For one of his roles, NTR will be seen wearing prosthetic and his look is being handled by Hollywood make-up artist Vance Hartwell, popular for his work in films such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy and Shutter Island. The look of the antagonist’s role has already gone viral. NTR will wear prosthetic make up for this character and he will speak with a stutter. It’s going to be a very interesting character with a menacing side and audiences are in for a surprise.
