Actor Kadambari Kadam, who was last seen in the hit TV show Teen Bahuraniyaan, five years back, is back on the tube once again to don the role of a bahu. However, this time, the 30-year-old has replaced actor Shamin Mannan for the lead character of Bhoomi in the popular show, Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki.
Incidentally, it’s the second time in a row that one of the prime characters of the show has been replaced. Last month, actor Supriya Kumari replaced actor Yashashri Masurkar as the parallel lead in the same show on Colors channel. Kadambari, who has been busy with Marathi films, is a tad nervous, as she feels it’s not easy to replace such a popular character. “It’s a huge responsibility, as Shamim was an already established face for this show. So, I will really have to work hard to create the same impact in the audience’s minds,” says the actor, who joined the show earlier this week.
Considering she’s already played a bahu’s role earlier, does she feel typecast? “Not really... it’s a lead role after all, and I will add my own flavour to it. I’m nervous but excited too,” she says, adding, “However, my dream is to do a negative role someday.” And like many of her colleagues, does she too dreams of exploring Bollywood? “I don’t mind, but that’s not like my ultimate aim. I think the reach and popularity of TV shows is much more, and I’m happy doing what I am doing,” she says.
