Remember Shweta Keswani? She played Avantika in Ekta Kapoor’s popular show Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii, and is also remembered for her roles as Anu in Des Mein Nikkla Hoga Chand and Gudiya in Baa Bahoo Aur Baby.
Now years later, Shweta is making a comeback. But not Indian television.
The mother-of-one is making her TV debut in the United States, where she will be seen playing an important role on NBC’s The Blacklist. The crime thriller stars James Spader, who plays a US-Navy-officer-turned-criminal, who helps the FBI, in return for immunity from prosecution.
The show is currently in its fourth season, and Shweta will be seen in the 15th episode that will air on February 23, in the US. Tweeting about the same, the 36-year-old wrote, “Most amazing time shooting with such an incredible unit????thank u @NBCBlacklist @Multi_EthnicMgt #myTVdebut #acting”
She also took to Instagram to share the happy news, with a post that read, “Here we go ! Making my TV debut here, super excited !please mark the date and time ! #myTVdebut #television #actors-life #acting #the Blacklist #diversity-rocks.”
Shweta joins two other Bollywood actresses, Priyanka Chopra and Nimrat Kaur, both 34, who are currently seen in American TV series. While Priyanka is seen on ABC’s Quantico, Nimrat, plays the role of Rebecca Yedlin on season two of Wayward Pines.
Shweta is presently settled in New York, with her second husband and daughter.
