Actor- comedian Krushna Abhishek has refuted reports that actors have refused to come on his show, Comedy Nights Bachao, to promote their films. He feels that members of rival show, The Kapil Sharma Show, are spreading these rumours.
“These reports are baseless. It is someone in Kapil’s team who is spreading rumours about our show. These people say things such like ‘Krushna’s show is coming to an end’, just for negative publicity,” format,” says Abhishek.
Both the comedy shows have been pitted against each other ever since Kapil Sharma’s show, Comedy Nights With Kapil, was replaced by Abhishek’s show. However, the former’s show found a new channel and a new name.
As per some reports, actor Jacqueline Fernandez had refused to promote her recent release Dishoon on Abhishek’s show since she was unhappy with the racist jokes made on her Housefull 3 co-star Lisa Haydon, during that film’s promotion on the show.
“Why won’t Jacqueline come on our show? She is the judge on a reality show, which is telecast on the same channel and part of the channel’s family. When it comes to respecting our guests, we draw a line and know the limits,” says Abhishek.
So what was the reason behind the team of Dishoom not promoting their film? “John is my friend. I spoke to him and he was giving me the date. Dishoom’s production house was in talks with our channel. However, our shooting was 15 days prior to their release date. I spoke to Varun (Dhawan, actor), and he said that there is no use of telecasting the episode so many days before the release of the film,” he says.
Actor Akshay Kumar, too, has supposedly refused to come on their show for his upcoming film, Rustom for the same reasons as Fernandez. To that, Abhishek says, “You wait and watch. We will get Akshay for his film. Who says he won’t come? Akshay loves us. When he has been on the two twice, why would he not come again?”
