The celebrity dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa premieres on Colors tonight with 12 contestants. But on Sunday, there will be 13 contenders for the title. The channel has added Sushil Kumar, the quiet and reserved winner of the last season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), to the fray.
The first ever non-celebrity contestant on Jhalak, Sushil, who is from Motihari in Bihar and who rocked the nation last year when he won R5 crore on KBC, apparently doesn’t know much about dance, but is looking forward to learning a few moves, says a source in the production unit of the dance show.
“Sushil has accepted the Jhalak challenge with great support from his family who hope to see a whole new side to his intellectual personality,” says the source. “Training him on all types of international dance forms will be his choreographer, Alisha.”
Former cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya, child actor Darsheel Safary and singer Talat Aziz are some of the other contestants.
