1,200 Zimbio readers participated in the poll that included all seasons of the hit reality show.
Even though Urban has only been a judge on American Idol for one season, Season 12 on BIG CBS LOVE, his quiet and kind attitude has made him a fan favorite.
Talking about his judging style, Urban said that when he was 9-10, he did one of these shows in Australia and was really crucified by one of the judges that he found devastating.
He further said that this is the reason why he is trying not to absolutely destroy somebody in front of millions of people
He explained that it is tricky when someone's just murdered a song and everyone knows it.
The other judges who made it to the top five on the poll are: Simon Cowell, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez and Nicki Minaj.
