Amitabh Bachchan has just made his comeback on the small screen as the pop philosopher on Bigg Boss 3 and is ahead of SRK, SRK and Big Byet again. According to aMap, the reality show has generated a record television rating point (TRP) of 6.0 for the launch episode aired on October 4.

Bigg Boss 3 beat the first-episode ratings of Shah Rukh Khan's Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? (TRP of 4) aired last year and Kaun Banega Crorepati-2 (TRP of 5.8) in 2007.

The reality show also overshadowed the opening TRP of reality shows like Raakhi Ka Swayamvar (TRP of 3.7), Aap Ki Kachehri anchored by ex-policewoman Kiran Bedi for the second season (TRP of 3.4) and Akshay Kumar-anchored reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi-2, was at 3.

aMap says the ratings of Bigg Boss 3 are double than those of Bigg Boss 2 when actor Shilpa Shetty was the anchor, or Bigg Boss 1, which aired on Sony three years ago.

Bigg Boss 3 was watched by nearly 11 million viewers, almost double of Bigg Boss 2, the viewership data has revealed.

What's more? If industry sources are to be believed, Amitabh has been paid a whopping Rs. 126 crore to host the third season of the hit reality show.
