Kit Harington to star alongside Liv Tyler in new BBC drama Gunpowder
Can’t have enough of Kit Harington in Game of Thrones? Well, there’s good news for you. He is all set to feature in a new TV drama Gunpowder.
Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow in the wildly-popular television drama series Game of Thrones, will now star in a new BBC One historical drama, Gunpowder, reports Deadline.
The actor will also be exec producing the project, which will tell the real life story of the Gunpowder Plot, the 1605 attempt by a group of English Catholics to blow up the House of Lords and kill King James I to restore the country Catholic rule.
However, the plot was uncovered on November 5 when authorities at Westminster Palace found one of the group, Guy Fawkes, guarding the explosives.
Although Fawkes is famous for his role in the plot, the plan was actually devised by Robert Catesby, to be played by Harington in the upcoming three-part drama. Harrington has previously revealed that he is directly descended from Catesby.
Harington will also be joined by Liv Tyler, who will play Catesby’s cousin Anne Vaux, Top Of The Lake star Peter Mullan and Sherlock actor Mark Gatiss.
