Season Two winner will soon be seen in an upcoming soap on Channel V, called

Dil Dosti Dance

. The show revolves around college students struggling to make it big in the field of dance. Mohan confirms that she plays the central character who arrives in Mumbai from Delhi with a dream to become a popular dance icon.

“The only reason I agreed to make my acting debut with this show is that it thrives on dance. Even the character I play is pretty close to the kind of person I am. So, I couldn’t find a reason to decline the offer,” says the debutant actor, who also made a blink-and-miss appearance in Farah Khan’s

title track video. “A lot of my colleagues in this show are from

. Amar, who was my partner in the show for most of its duration, plays the male lead here.”

The cast also includes professional B-boying artistes and other specialised dancers. The show went on floors last week and is expected to be on air over the next one or two months in a key slot on the channel.

When asked if she always wanted to be a dancer-actor, Mohan, who’s also eyeing Bollywood, says, “I didn’t decide that I want to be an actor because my plan was to pursue dance as a career. After winning

DID,

I went to London for an advanced dance course. I took up this show because it helps me pursue dance and acting.”

The actor’s sister Mukti will be seen hosting

on Star Plus. Mohan says it’s a co-incidence that the sisters are on the tube almost simultaneously. “Mukti is an excellent dancer too. We’ve never discussed TV show offers,” says Mohan. “But nevertheless, it’s working for us, and we’re very happy because we both get to do what we like.”
