The small screen is her claim to fame, and Ratan Rajput is in no hurry to move on to cinema. The actor, better known as Lali from

is two shows old, and enjoying her stint on TV. So much so, that she is known to have turned down an offer from Bollywood.

Says Rajput, “It doesn’t matter if I want to do it; it is the people who should want me to do it. I’d like to give my 100 per cent to whatever I am doing, so for now, I will stick to the daily soaps.”

Elaborating on why she’d like to make the transition at a later stage, Rajput says, “Movies are three hours long. People remember what happened in that short time much better than a TV show that goes on for two years.”

She is impressed by the relevance of what she sees on TV these days. “It’s a great medium to connect people to something they haven’t seen before,” she explains, “When it comes to my show, I’ve always believed that it’s a story that really exists. I heard of a girl in Haryana being sold once. My character still sold for Rs 90,000, this girl was being sold for only Rs 10,000!”

Rajput is excited by a lot of prospects, but she is in no hurry to start experimenting. “I love fiction; it lets me live another character, which is very exciting. At the same time reality TV too, is interesting. I’d love to try my hand at it some day.”
