Television anchor and actor Manish Paul is currently shooting for a dance reality show on TV. But he has taken a two-day break to celebrate Independence Day in Gurgaon. His family has organised a flag-hoisting ceremony, and has asked him to be part of it.
"Manish's maternal grandfather, late lieutenant Mangalsen Rishi, was with the Indian Army, and it is one of reasons why the family celebrates Independence Day diligently. This time, Manish was informed quite in advance to take time out, and be in Gurgaon, where the function will be held," says a source close to the actor.
The 34-year-old is also expected to deliver a speech at the event. "He will be sharing his views on the sacrifices his grandfather made to serve the country," adds the source.
When contacted, Manish confirmed the news, saying, "This year, I'll be celebrating Independence Day in Delhi with my family in memory of my nanaji (maternal grandfather). I'm really looking forward to it."
