TV heartthrob Vikkas Manaktala is very passionate about fitness. The 33-year-old Delhi boy has been a fitness freak since childhood. Vikkas, who used to play soccer and basket ball in school, shares that exercise became a vital part of his life then.

“For me staying fit is one of the most important things in life. I realised it quite early and since then I have never compromised on my fitness routine. I have recently learnt Wing Chun. It’s a Chinese martial art that was even practiced by Bruce Lee. I am also into dancing as that makes your body flexible and keeps your mind fresh,” says Vikkas.

The actor, famous for his show Left Right Left, makes sure that he never misses out on his exercise routine and follows a proper diet even during his hectic shooting schedules. “I am very particular about maintaining my body. Depending on my shooting schedule and character requirement I keep changing my routine. Even during hectic work schedule, I make sure that I hit the gym at anytime of the day whenever I get free from work. It can be early in the morning or late at night,” says the actor who was in the Capital over the weekend to celebrate his birthday with his family.

Many of his co-stars and friends in the industry have drawn inspiration from him to stay fit. Ask Vikkas about it and he adds with a smile, “Yes that’s true. Many of my industry (television) friends have praised me for it. They have also told me how I inspire them. Even while shooting, I try and guide my co-stars, producers and directors on how to stay fit.”
