TV actor Mohsin Khan is back from the dead, literally. Reports on Wednesday suggested that Khan died in a boat accident while shooting for a documentary on river Jia Bharali near Bhalukpung in Assam’s Sonitpur district. The news sent shockwaves within the industry, and just when his colleagues and friends were struggling to come to terms with the news, came another twist: Khan said that he was ‘fine and alive’.
Reportedly, it was another person with a similar name who had actually drowned. Mohsin, who has worked in TV soaps like Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi and Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, said, “I have been getting numerous phone calls since last night. My friends, family and colleagues heard about the news report, which was put up on some website. It had my photo, and said that I had drowned and was dead. It was quite scary.”
“There are many names floating around like Moin, Momin, Mohsin. But since one website put up my picture, everyone picked that up and ran the story, without asking me. People are asking me how I feel about this ‘second life’. It’s so strange. So many people have reached out, and checked up with me. It’s touching,” he added.
His friends, Kunal Kapoor and Shradha Arya, have also been spreading the word that he’s doing well. Mohsin also worked as assistant director for Vindo Khanna-starrer Koyelanchal (2014).
