Music channel MTV will run an apology scroll from Friday for three days for using abusive, vulgar language on its show MTV Roadies, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry decided on Wednesday.

This makes MTV the fifth channel in the last fortnight to get a warning from the ministry for violation of the Programme and Advertising Codes.

The scroll will read: “Ministry of Information and Broadcasting warned MTV for telecast of the programme ‘MTV Roadies’, containing abusive and vulgar words, phrases and gesticulations, found violative of Programme Code. MTV apologises for the said violation and assures strict compliance of Programme Code in future”.
