Television actors are known for their long and hectic schedules, which takes a toll on their personal lives. And actor Shweta Tiwari’s life is no different . Owing to long hours and work commitments, Shweta often has to miss out on important events in her daughter Palak’s life. “I hardly get any time with her. I don’t get to go on too many holidays with her or attend her parent-teacher meetings at school or other school functions. I feel like I am just missing out on her life,” she says.
Shweta adds that she still tries to take out as much time as she can for Palak. “I am not that ambitious, and now, I often tell my producers that I need to take time off. I understand that my daughter is in her teenage years and this is the time for me to be with her,” she adds.
However, Shweta adds that her 16-year-old is very supportive of her profession. “My daughter understands my profession. I am so proud of her. Earlier, when I would miss any of her events, she would crib. But now she understands completely and often encourages me to focus on my work. In fact, she often asks my brother to record all her functions, so that she can watch them again with me at home,” she says, adding, “But I know that this must be hard for her too and I often apologise. I tell her that I am sorry I am not like a regular mom. But she still encourages me all the time,” she says.
But Shweta’s shows are a complete no-no for her daughter. “She never watches my shows at all, not even one. She hates watching daily soaps and runs away from them. In fact, she even tells me that it will never happen that she will watch my shows,” she says.
