Netflix original series, Narcos, chronicling the life of infamous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, now has a premiere date- September 2.
The series tells the gripping real-life story of Escobar in late 1980s and the corroborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in Colombia to apprehend him and other drug lords in a brutal and bloody conflict.
Its gritty storytelling revolves around the often-conflicting forces - legal, political, police, military and civilian - that clash in the effort to control cocaine, one of the world’s most valuable commodities.
Wagner Moura, best known for his roles in Elite Squad and Elysium, portrays the role of Escobar while Gone Girl star Boyd Holbrook and Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal are in the role of real-life DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Pena.
Elite Squad director Jose Padilha and Eric Newman, best known for Children of Men, are the executive producers of the series. Narcos is produced by Gaumont International Television for Netflix.
