Netflix unveiled the first trailer for their upcoming superhero show Marvel’s Iron Fist at the ongoing New York Comic Con in the presence of the series’ star Finn Jones and the rest of the cast.
Marvel’s Iron Fist debuts March 17 2017 and is the fourth of four epic live-action adventure series from Marvel following Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, all leading up to the teaming of the main characters in The Defenders.
The end of the panel featured the biggest surprise of the night when the cast of The Defenders united on stage for the first time. Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) from Daredevil, Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) from Jessica Jones, and Mike Colter (Luke Cage) from Luke Cage joined Finn Jones (Danny Rand) from Iron Fist.
Golden Globe-winning and Oscar and Emmy nominated actress Sigourney Weaver, who joined them on stage, was announced as playing a significant but unspecified role in Marvel’s The Defenders.
“Marvel is honored to have an actress of her caliber and status join what is already our biggest show ever! She is by definition a class act,” said Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television. “Sigourney Weaver, what more is there to say,” said Cindy Holland,Vice President of original content at Netflix. “She’s a formidable actress and we are thrilled to have her join our remarkable cast alongside Charlie, Krysten, Mike and Finn.”
