The 1,000th episode of Colors’ Balika Vadhu (BV) will bring a new change in Anandi’s (Pratyusha Banerjee) life. On Monday, May 14, actor Sidharth Shukla will enter the show as Shiv, a collector.
Excited to be part of the show, Sidharth says, “I’ve always been part of shows from the first episode, but this is the first time that I am doing a show which has already been on air.” The actor has previously done three shows including Star One’s Jaane Pehchaane Se Ye Ajnabbi and Star Plus’ Love U Zindagi.
“For me, this role will be a double whammy as it’s a huge opportunity, but at the same time it will also add a lot of pressure. BV has been a successful show for four years and it has a huge fan base. I hope people accept me in the show and I am able to take it to higher level,” he says, adding, that he signed the project without even giving it a second thought. “In BV, every actor’s performance touches your heart. The team on the show is dedicated, which inspires me a lot.” Talking about his character, Sidharth says, “He is an honest, impatient, righteous guy who is approachable, yet has an attitude. He is fully into his job and is a confident guy who can handle any kind of situation.”
Sidharth’s entry in the show will be grand. Enroute to the ceremony of welcoming the chief minister to Jaitsar, Anandi will be atop a horse carriage, but due to fireworks in the vicinity, the horses will be spooked and take off. Hearing Anandi scream, Shiv will help her, but vanish before she can thank him. Later during the ceremony and felicitation, Anandi will be shocked to see him as the new collector in town. Later, students from Anandi’s school will perform a dance and pull Anandi and Shiv on the floor. Watching them dance, Dadisa (Surekha Sikri) will wonder if he would make the perfect match for Anandi.
