Although she has been linked with the former director of her TV show, Neeraj Baliyan, and most recently to the supervising producer of the show, Jaywant Jaiswal, one of TV’s popular bahus, Hina Khan, maintains that she is currently single.
"I’m single and ready to mingle. Honestly, even if I was dating someone, I will not talk about it unless I am 100 per cent sure about it, because I am a private person. Also, I am too busy to think about a relationship right now,” says Hina, who is popularly known by her on-screen character name, Akshara.
So, how does she deal with all the rumours about her personal life? “They don’t bother me. People write stories without bothering to check with me. For me, no reaction is the best reaction,” she says.
Ask her if she has Bollywood aspirations like many of her contemporaries from the small screen, and she says, “I am not thinking about Bollywood and am quite happy being on TV. I believe a lot in destiny and if destiny has it, then I will be seen in films. If people find me suitable for a role, which equally interests me, then I will think about it. Having said that, there is a perception that TV actors can’t act in movies. I would like to break this myth if and when I decide to do films.”
Hina also feels that Indian TV shows need to undergo a makeover. “Indian TV shows definitely need a revamp, but at the same time, I know that majority of people will not like new-age shows. If you compare an experimental show with a typical saas-bahu saga, the latter will always have more viewers,” she says.
