After Toral Rasputra replaced Pratyusha Banerjee as Anandi, there’s yet another change on the popular TV show Balika Vadhu.

HT Café had reported on October 15, 2013, that Sriti Jha was planning to quit the show as she wasn’t happy with the direction her character (Ganga) had taken. Now, Sriti has completed her notice period, and Sargun Mehta has replaced her on the show. In fact, Sargun started shooting yesterday (November 1) after being finalised for the role just a day before.

Ask Sargun about replacing Sriti and she says, “I am not fond of replacing anyone. The audience connects with certain characters and the actors portraying them. I hope they accept me.”

Contrary to her character, who is quiet and reserved, Sargun is very talkative in real life. “It will be a huge challenge as I can’t keep my mouth shut. I am hoping Ganga becomes more vocal on the show,” she says.

Sargun says she was surprised when the makers called her for the role. “I never saw myself in such a role. I was wondering if I’d be able to pull it off. But here I am, and I’ll make the most of this opportunity,” she says with a smile.
