After starting paid tours of the Bigg Boss house and other elements associated with the show’s format, the makers have now come up with another way to engage viewers — with a smartphone application. So instead of waiting for one-hour episodes every night, fans of the show can just download the app to keep an eye on what’s going on in the house, 24x7.
The channel, Colors, introduced the app just shortly after the success of the Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa app, which showed rehearsals and offered tutorials with choreographers from the recently-concluded dance reality show. The Big Boss app will offer live feeds from inside the house, unseen videos, quizzes and polls about the show and its contestants and even some spoiler alerts. Fans can even post their reactions on Facebook and Twitter, which are already abuzz with comments from viewers. Speaking about the app, Vivek Shrivastava, digital head, Colors says, “We’ve launched this app to satiate the voyeuristic needs of the viewers and increase interactivity, giving audiences access to every movement in the house by clicking a button.”
Abhishek Rege, COO – Television, Endemol India, producer of the show adds, “It ensures that Bigg Boss enthusiasts are constantly entertained with all the fun elements. With a 24 x 7 live feed feature, one does not need to worry about missing out on the action inside the house.”
