Many new shows are lined up for the new year, and several actors will make their TV debuts with them. At the same time, a host of veterans, who were missing from the small screen, are also making comebacks in 2015. In addition, some film actors, too, will be seen on the tube. Here’s who you should keep an eye out for.
Pallavi Subhash: Famous for various Hindi and Marathi TV shows including Karam Apnaa Apnaa, Pallavi will now be seen in the historical show Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat. The 30-year-old actor will play the role of Ashoka’s mother, Dharma.
Sridevi: The actor wowed the audiences with her performance in English Vinglish (2012) and is apparently working on a film, but a small screen show may be on the cards as well. Though the concept of the project is under wraps, in all likelihood, she may be a judge on a reality show on a popular channel.
From left to right: Sridevi, Rahil Azim, Sohail Khan, Shveta Salve, Pallavi Subhash and Gautami Kapoor.
Sohail Khan: Queen (2014) director Vikas Bahl will soon helm a TV show about an aspiring actor and his famous family. He has signed Sohail for the lead role, and the actor’s family, including superstar brother Salman Khan, is touted to do cameos.
Shveta Salve, Rahil Azim: On TV since 1998, Shveta Salve (left) will return to the telly after a nine-year-long hiatus. She will be seen in the show Ek Tha Chander… Ek Thi Sudha, which is based on the book, Gunahon Ka Devta, by Dharmveer Bharti. Ashwini Dheer will direct it. Rahil Azim (above), best known for playing Hatim in the show by the same name, will also make a comeback with this show.
Gautami Kapoor: In 2013, the actor made a comeback to the tube after a hiatus of five-and-a-half years, with the show Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi. The show ended within a few months, but Gautami has now signed up to play a widow in Rajan Shahi’s show Tere Shehar Mein.
