Last week, we had reported that Neelu Waghela would quit popular show Diya Aur Baati Hum due to long shooting hours and health issues.
In September, she had fainted on the sets due to high blood pressure and a severe acidity attack, and was hospitalised for a few days.
Earlier in March, Neelu was diagnosed with a cyst in her neck due to wearing heavy pallus and jewellery. But now, the actor confirms that although she had decided to quit, she has changed her mind now. "I had decided to quit as I felt that it will be unfair to the makers if I didn’t put in my 100 per cent due to my health issues. But after rounds of discussions with the makers, things have been worked out," says the actor.
Talking about her decision to stay, she says, "The makers were cooperative, and reduced my shooting hours from 12 to 8, while giving me more days off. These changes are giving me a chance to relax. I love the show and it has given me a lot, so I am glad that I am staying back."
The actor also reveals that numerous fans called up and met her after they heard of her plans to leave the show. "I was amazed to see a 70-year-old woman waiting for me near my house when I returned from my morning walk. She caught me and said ‘don’t quit, the show won’t be the same without you’. Several other fans who I have met recently also insisted I don’t quit, which I took into consideration."
