After Top Gear, Chris Evans losses his yet another TV show TFI Friday.
The feel-good show, which ran through the 90s, was briefly resurrected in 2015 for a short series but, despite its success, Channel 4 has decided not to recommission it, reports Channel24.
According to a spokesperson, “TFI was never commissioned as a long-running series so there are no plans for it to return.”
“It’s not great news for Chris after losing Top Gear, but there isn’t the appetite to bring back TFI again. Chris is seen as a nightmare to deal with and I don’t think they want the hassle that comes with it,” a source reportedly said.
Evans, the host of BBC’s flagship car show, Top Gear, had announced on Monday that he’s quitting the show just after one series.
Evans, 50, who also hosts a popular BBC radio breakfast show, told his 2.31 million Twitter followers: “Stepping down from Top Gear. Gave it my best shot but sometimes that’s not enough. The team is beyond brilliant, I wish them all the best.”
