Actor Sakshi Tanwar’s character in Bade Acche Lagte Hain (BALH) has undergone another change. After shedding her sari-clad Parvati look, she donned Indo-western outfits. And now, she will only be seen in western wear. This look too has been loved by her fans, as was her post-wedding salwar kameez and sari one. Sakshi’s style on the show is changing drastically because BALH has taken a leap. Her character Priya, a single, working mother, is now settled in Dubai. She will be seen wearing shirts, scarves, jeans and trousers and her hair will mostly be left loose.
“There’s a certain aspirational value attached to Priya’s style. People look up to their favourite actors-characters on TV. I’m sure they her fans are going to follow this look as much as they followed and copied my earlier one. The pre-leap style of pinning my hair on one side and wearing salwar kameez with deep backs also became a statement. Beauty parlour owners have told me that women would ask for the Priya look when they dressed up for any occasion,” says Sakshi, talking about her makeover of sorts.
“Even the pre-marriage kurtis-and-jeans look was loved. This was new for fans as they had always seen me in saris.”
Ever since BALH went on air, it has been in the news for Sakshi’s camaraderie with co-star Ram Kapoor, who is known for his moody temperament.
Has she ever faced any trouble? “No. Ram and I have a lot of mutual respect. So much so that he doesn’t even smoke when I’m in the room.”
