People told me they can’t watch Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa without me: Manish Paul
Glad to be back on Jhalak, Manish says, "So many people told me that they can’t watch the show without me, and these comments made me feel loved. But I kept telling them that I am because of the show… the show isn’t because of me (sic)."tv Updated: Jun 25, 2014 11:40 IST
In the last couple of years, Manish Paul gained quite a fan following with his hosting skills on the popular dance reality show
. The actor, with his easy banter with celebrity guests and a good rapport with the star judges, is back to host the show again.

"Everyone around me — from the spot boys and production team to the contestants and judges — is happy to see me on the show. It seems like everyone’s prayers have been answered,"
says with a smile.
The actor’s debut film, Mickey Virus (2013), didn’t exactly set his Bollywood career rolling, but he says he’s trying to maintain a balance between his TV and big-screen projects. "I let destiny guide me, rather than plan things. If we plan too much, things never work out. The day God feels that I should only do films, he will guide me towards thsem. I am happy to maintain a balance. My next film will start in August, so I can manage my TV show and film simultaneously," he says.
Does he worry that working on TV might lead to over-exposure and hamper his film career? "No, I don’t. I got two films due to my work on TV, and people know me because of TV and my hosting. We have many popular actors who are doing films and TV and that doesn’t affect their career negatively. I think people’s perspective has changed and their mindset has become more open. Who knows, post this current hosting assignment, I might bag another film," he says.
Glad to be back on the new season of the celebrity dance reality show, Manish says, "So many people told me that they can’t watch the show without me, and these comments made me feel loved. After all, it was TV that got me fame. But I kept telling them that I am because of the show… the show isn’t because of me (sic)."
After Manish had hosted the fifth and sixth seasons of this show, the makers’ decision to not bring him back for the current (seventh) season — it kicked off with
as the new hosts — left everyone surprised. However, after Ranvir and Drashti’s pairing failed to click, Drashti was dropped. Rumour now has it that Ranvir, too, might be out soon.
Ask Manish about these developments and he says, "Drashti is a friend and I felt bad. But she was very graceful about her exit. As for Ranvir, these are just rumours."
Some time back, reports claimed that Manish wasn’t offered this season of the celebrity dance reality show as he had signed Sunil Grover’s serial
on a rival channel. But Manish denies the news. "There was no such problem," he says.
While speaking about his Bollywood commitments, Manish reveals that the release of his next film, Tere Bin Laden 2, has been delayed for now. "We should release in two months. I also have two other films in the pipeline," he adds.
