TV actor Mona Wasu has often worked on the so-called bold characters — from being seen in a swimsuit on a TV reality show to doing an intimate scene in a film. And now, when the actor will be part of a lesbian scene in Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Yudh, Mona says she doesn’t shy away from playing bold characters.
Talking about the scene, she says, “I am not playing a lesbian, but the character is excited and curious about the concept of a woman hitting on another. I don’t know if you can call it bold. But, when the other character hits on me, my character is not taken aback in the show.”
Mona says that though the scene is not bold, it is rare and unconventional. “It will be new for Indian television viewers. Perhaps it might be tantalising for some people, but it wasn’t for me. It was a challenge to perform such a scene with a woman. To orient my thinking in that manner took a lot of time and hard work. I hope the effort will be accepted and appreciated,” she says.
Talking about the experience of working with iconic actor Amitabh Bachchan in the show, she says, “I wasn’t nervous, but was extremely excited to work with him. He is full of zeal and enthusiasm, so it’s very inspiring to see him perform. He is a true professional and comes on time and does his work without any qualms,” says the actor.
