Sakshi Talwar who plays the soon-to-be-bride in Ranbeer Rano, seems to have gotten too involved with the marriage preparations on the Zee daily. The actress chuckles, “It’s like a dress rehearsal of my own wedding. I’m going through the same emotions that a bride would, as her big day draws closer.”
A day before the mehndi ceremony was shot, beauticians arrived on the sets to apply mehndi to Talwar. But thanks to constant delays, the job was left half-done.
Shaadi for real
The enthusiastic actress then completed the mehndi on her own. As she puts it, “After all, it’s my first on-screen marriage. Everything had to be perfect.”
Meanwhile in Delhi, the actress’ mum has been getting emotional watching the pre-marriage ceremonies on the tube.
Mrs Talwar laughs it off, “Yes, the wedding looks real.
But Sakshi only has work on her mind, so I’ll have to wait.” As far as mamma dearest’s choice goes, the boy need only be “caring and slightly good-looking.”
Talwar junior has much to say in reply: “You know how mums are.. all they want is for their daughters to get married and be well-settled. Mum has been calling me after every episode saying, ‘Aaj teri mehendi ho gayi.. aaj tera sangeet ho gaya.’ She’s going to be sitting in the living room, crying her eyes out when Ranbeer and Ranno finally get married.”
Mamma Talwar has also apparently expressed a wish to see her daughter tie the knot for real on the sets and with Ravi who plays Ranbeer.
What does Mrs Talwar’s proposed son-in-law feel about this? Ravi bursts out laughing, “Are you aware of the repercussions of my reaction to this? Sakshi will make a dream bride for whoever marries her. She’s a nice girl.”
The actor also disagrees that it’s only girls who dream of their D-day. “When I look at the preparations on the sets, I think even I should have such an exciting shaadi.”
The hero of the love saga is quick to add, “I’m not planning to marry any time soon, though. Right now, it’s work.. and some pleasure.”
