Townsville residents will now be safe again! The adorable munchkins aka the Powerpuff Girls are returning to your TV sets in April and the first clip is sugar, spice and everything nice.

Cartoon Network released the video on Vimeo and you can watch it here:

Thankfully, the creators have not made too many changes to the generic theme of the cartoon but have definitely brushed up the animation. It looks more Steven Universe than Dexter’s Laboratory now. Sure, some changes are bound to happen and we are pretty much happy with them so far.

The girls, in the clip, are about to take on a bearded villain who doesn’t think highly of the female gender. He wants Townsville to return to it’s ‘manly roots’ and has decided to destroy the ‘hippie carnival’. Of course, Buttercup is more than up for kicking his butt and so she does. She swings him by his beard and throws him far away into the horizon when he mocks her and calls her a ‘princess’.

Amanda Leighton, Kristen Li and Natalie Palamides will give their voices to Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, respectively. However, the iconic voice of Tom Kenny as the narrator and Mr Mayor will not be replaced.

We still don’t know what else will be new about the show, maybe we will get more villains. However, we are sure nothing can ever match up to the awesomeness of Mojo Jojo, Amoeba Boys, Him, Princess Morbucks and The Gangrene Gang.
