Priyanka-Chelsea Handler controversy: Who messed up? Twitter knows
While Twitter and Facebook users were generally proud of Priyanka and the way she handled the situation, they were also quick to point out the rather harmless slip-of-tongue.tv Updated: Oct 28, 2016 12:22 IST
Priyanka Chopra was at the centre of another controversy (after the one with the offensive t-shirt quote) on Thursday when she shared a video of her interview with American talk show host, Chelsea Handler. The latter had asked Priyanka if she understood English when she first came to the US at the age of 12.
Priyanka did not get offended at the question, and responded by saying that “10% of the Indian population speaks the language”. However, she got the math wrong, and translated the 10% into 1.3 million people. It should actually have been 130 million.
While Twitter and Facebook users were generally proud of Priyanka and the way she handled the situation, they were also quick to point out the rather harmless slip-of-tongue.
But even this slight calculation error did not take away the kudos she earned for her befitting reply:

And a few also called out Chelsea for her ignorance:
