Purab Kohli is on a number of hoardings across the city these days. And with him is an eclectic trio that he picked out himself, to go on a bachelor trip of sorts as part of his new TV show, Life Mein Ek Baar. “I enjoy travelling and there are so many things that I’ve always wanted to do, with or without a strong reason for it,” he says.
He reveals that the original format of the show was to feature three of his friends, checking off items that were on their wish list. “But I wanted to take along people who don’t get the opportunity to have these experiences,” says Purab. After seeking applications on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, the team from the channel, Fox Traveller, had over 5,000-6,000 aspirants to choose from. “I only met the final 25, and went for an all-boy connection with Bhaskara Seth, Jupiter Huidron and Arun Kolagada,” says Purab.
The four then sat to compile their bucket list, that included activities like skydiving, deep sea diving, bungee jumping, biking expeditions and eating exotic food across India as well as Nepal, Thailand and Dubai.
While Purab rates the bungee jump in Nepal as his most thrilling experience, software engineer Arun cherishes his experience of riding a rickshaw in Chennai. For Jupiter and Bhaskara, the bike ride from Kardungla, Leh, remains a great memory. Bhaskara laughs, “Arun misplaced his wallet. After he'd gotten worried and cancelled all his debit cards, we quietly placed it back in his bag. He felt stupid for creating a fuss over nothing.”
Life Mein Ek Baar will premiere tonight at 10 pm on Fox Traveller.
