NDTV Imagine is in a replacement mode. Two of its popular primetime dailies will soon make way for new shows. It was recently reported that Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi was going off air.

And now buzz is that Main Teri Parchhain Hoon is going the same way. Radhaa Ki Betiyaan.. will be replaced by Dehleez.. and Main Teri Parchhain Hoon will be replaced by Jyoti.

Shailja Kejriwal, EVP content, NDTV Imagine, confirms the news and says that both the earlier shows were drawing to a logical end. “As a general entertainment channel one has to keep offering new and fresh content to the viewers. All stories ought to have a draw to a close after a longish run,” she argues. Kejriwal also confirmed the news that Jyoti and Dehleez would take over the 8:30 pm and 9 pm slots.

If sources are to be believed, both the axed shows had failed to garner TRPs. Kavita Barjatya, the producer of Main Teri.., won’t comment on the ratings front. “We had a pleasant experience working with NDTV Imagine and hope to do more projects with them in future,” is all she says.

Apparently, the soap lost steam as soon as the lead characters were married. Sameer Dharmadhikari, the protagonist, doesn’t believe that the show was stretched but he does admit that it was the right time to bring the curtains down. “If we had continued with the story, the audience would have run away,” he smiles.

Megha Gupta, the lead actress of the show, is at her diplomatic best: “It was the channel’s decision to end the show.. they know best.”
