Actor Rajeev Khandelwal became a popular face on TV with his fiction show Kahiin To Hoga (2003-2007) and reality series, Sach Ka Saamna. However, the 40-year-old, who took a five-year break to work in films is back to the small screen, and says it’s because of the love of his fans.

“I know there are certain people who watch only television...like my father and his friends. They have been telling me: ‘For the last five years you have been away from TV, do something for us also. That’s just one example,” says the actor, who has starred in films such as Shaitan (2011) and Table No 21 (2013).

He adds, “I know there are a lot of people who don’t watch films. I always felt that I cannot ignore them and I need to do something for them,” says Rajeev.

The actor, who has a very strong female fan following, says that coming back to television was not an attempt to gain more popularity but to give back the love to his fans.

“It’s not to increase or decrease my fan base but I kind of feel that I owe it to them. I need to keep doing something so that they enjoy watching me, and I would love to do that always,” says Khandelwal.
