Stand-up comedian Raju Srivastav is all set to be a part of the next instalment of Bigg Boss. Confirming his participation in the show, to be aired soon on Colors, Raju says: “Yes, I am in Bigg Boss 3. I agreed to participate in the show because Amitabh Bachchan is hosting it so we would get a lot of hype.” Raju adds that he cancelled all other shows to be a part of this. “This was quite a tough decision,” he says.
Though a popular name in stand-up comedy, of late Raju has been facing a lot of humiliation at public events. At the recently held Rajiv Gandhi Awards in Mumbai, music composer Vishal Dadlani, who was performing on stage, pushed Raju off the stage. Ask him about the incident and he says, “I took Vishal’s comments as a compliment, because I was snatching his limelight, he got insecure. I think one should take things easy.”
A similar incident happened at an NGO event recently when restaurateur AD Singh asked an organiser to get Raju off the stage as he was spoiling the party. But Raju is unperturbed. “We should never forget ‘humari industry mein chadte suraj ko salam karte hain,’ so till the time my organisers are happy with me, I don’t care about others,” he concludes.
