Zindagi jhand baa, phir bhi ghamand baa — his favourite punchline on Bigg Boss season I could have won him the crown. But guess Ravi Kishen was destined for better things than that. Today, the then small-time Bhojpuri film actor is doing films with Bollywood biggies like Mani Ratnam and Shyam Benegal. He’s the superstar of Bhojpuri cinema and a prized commodity on the small screen who now returns as the host of a unique reality show, Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka.
“The show uses Past Life Regression therapy to find answers to questions that trouble us in our current lives. Problems like recurring dreams, mysterious coincidences and unexplained fears,” says Kishen. And while they dreaded Sach Ka Saamna, our Bollywood celebs can’t wait to unravel their Raaz Pichhle Janam Ka on national television. Shekhar Suman reportedly cried during the shoot. And Sushmita Sen, and Sanjay Dutt have revealed some of their long hidden fears on it. “It’s not a show where the participants are hurting others with their revelations. Here we’re only helping people. That’s why everyone is so keen on it.”
Kishen says the producers are stunned by the overwhelming response for participation. “The requests just don’t cease. And most participants have gone home satisfied. For instance, a writer who had a recurring bad dream discovered he was hanged to death in his last birth.” And just in case things don’t go as planned? “The therapy is conducted by renowned psychologist Dr Trupti Jayin. We also have a medical team on stand-by for any eventuality.” Kishen himself is keen on taking the therapy soon. “Even I want to know who I was in my past life. And I’ll make sure the episode is aired,” he says.
