The latest promo of the upcoming television show, Reporters, on Sony Entertainment Television has already created quite a stir among viewers. The promo features a bold kiss between the lead actors Rajeev Khandelwal and Kritika Kamra, after which Kamra is seen slapping Khandelwal tight. Even before the promo appeared on television, it was leaked online and turned into buzz.
Fans mistook the promo as a real incident and this led to the video going viral. Speaking about it, Kritika says, "We don't know where this whole controversy emerged from. We were equally surprised when we saw it on the internet. There has never been a romantic link-up between Rajeev and me. The kiss and slap were part of our script and the promo is getting a great response."
The 'kiss and slap' sequence is a part of a scene where Rajeev endorses Kritika's actions and says that this slap is an answer to all those who mistreat women. Since the show will delve around the media industry, the promo that aired aptly establishes the plot, feel the makers. "The truth needs to be told. How beautifully, how effectively and how honestly it is done, depends on how good the journalist is. It's not just about deliverance, it's about involvement. The promo is not bold visually. It is bold in attitude. The beauty is how it hits you right where it should and also conveys the show's approach right in the beginning," says Rajeev.
Starting April 13, Reporters will air Mon-Thu, 9pm, on Sony Entertainment Television.
