Having garnered a lot of popularity as Khushi in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (IPKKND), actor Sanaya Irani is set to make her comeback on the tube. After IPKKND went off-air last year, the actor was offered several projects.

Now, Sanaya tells us that her new show Modern Bahoo will be a light-hearted family drama that will go on air next month. Though Sanaya was also offered a love story on Star Plus, she chose to take up something that is different from her last project. About her next show, she tweeted: “I'm glad to announce that I have opted for a lead in Optimystix’s next... Another project that I’m considering is based on a Gujarati family (sic).”

Modern Bahoo will replace actor Aamna Sharif’s comeback serial, Honge Judaa Na Hum, on Sony. “Sanaya will play a sensible and cheerful person who has a modern outlook. But the family she marries into will be a strict and conservative one,” says a source, adding, “Viewers will be reminded of the yesteryear film Khoobsoorat (1980) that
featured Rekha, when they see the show. There will be elements from that film in the serial. The male lead isn’t finalised yet, but he is likely to be a newcomer.”
