SDCC: First trailer for The Shannara Chronicles out, and it's epic

MTV's extended trailer for the new fantasy series The Shannara Chronicles has been unveiled.

Terry Brooks's acclaimed novel is coming to screens for the very first time in January 2016, reported Digital Spy.

An unveiling of the first full-length trailer at Comic-Con International comes mere weeks after season one wrapped in New Zealand.

The Shannara Chronicles ensemble cast includes James Remar (Sex and the City), Manu Bennett (Arrow), Poppy Drayton (Downton Abbey), John Rhys-Davies (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), Daniel MacPherson (The Bill) and Brooke Williams (Spartacus: War of the Damned).

Smallville's Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are adapting Brooks's post-apocalyptic book series for MTV while Jon Favreau (Iron Man) acts as executive producer and Jonathan Leibesman (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) directs the first two episodes.
