“She completes me,” says a newly married Rahul Mahajan, trying his best to ape Tom Cruise in

Jerry Maguire

. “The feeling hasn’t sunk in,” India’s homegrown Bachelor is quick to add. Mahajan, who chose Dimpy Ganguly to marry him on the NDTV Imagine show

Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega

, says that although his last marriage with Shweta Singh was a failure, this one is for keeps.

“You don’t always find your best friend in a spouse, but you can always find your spouse in your best friend. Our core values and styles are similar. The only difference is that she’s non-vegetarian and I’m a vegetarian,” he says.

Ganguly, meanwhile, can’t stop raving about her hubby: “It’s a big turn-on for me - that a man can hold my hand in front of the entire country and say, ‘Dimpy, will you marry me?’”

About the 13-year age gap between the two, Mahajan says, “I behave younger than my age, while she’s really mature. It’s just a technicality, really.” His views are echoed by Dimpy, who’s all too happy to “accept him the way he is”.

Although Dimpy confesses she’d like to see Mahajan “pursue a political career”, the two aren’t ruling out the possibility of being India’s new ‘reality show couple’. “I’m not ruling out TV or films… I’d love to be on a show with her,” says Mahajan. Dimpy quickly concurs, “That’s the sweetest thing… I was involved in television back in Kolkata, you know.” The two may be dead-serious about the committment, but Twitter is abuzz with jokes about their marriage.
