Sharon Srone will take on her first major TV role in Agent X, a political drama.

The Hollywood actress will play Natalie Maccabee, a widow who decides to enter politics after the death of her husband, a candidate for a seat in the Senate.

After rapidly rising through the ranks, she becomes the United States' first female vice president. The role, as she learns, comes with a secret duty: protecting the Constitution during a period of major crisis. The series will be penned by William Blake Herron, a screenwriter known in Hollywood for his contributions to The Bourne Identity.
