The BBC have released a new teaser for the upcoming series of Sherlock, reports NME.

The British channel aired the cryptic clip on BBC One on Wednesday night, but the short teaser does not give much away.

In the video fans can see a still of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman’s Doctor Watson seated facing each other with the caption, “It’s not a game anymore.”

The first episode of the new season will air on the BBC on New Year’s Day, after the show’s last season aired in 2014.

The BBC previously revealed that the series will begin with Sherlock “back once more on British soil as Doctor Watson and his wife, Mary, prepare for their biggest ever challenge -- becoming parents for the first time.”
