Sherlock creators gave the show's fans a massive throwback straight from the Victorian era on Thursday morning... well it is not really a throwback. The producers shared an impressive image of actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in full old-school mood just as the characters' creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle imagined them.
The picture is released for the promotion of their upcoming special which will be set in the late 18 century London, a deviation from the regular contemporary British setting. Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes) is seen sporting shorter, slicker hair, perhaps judging us on our 'average intelligence' while Freeman (Dr John Watson) is rocking a very hipster-ly 'stache.
However, BBC has still not revealed the release date of either the episode or the next season but speculation is that it will air during the Christmas holiday season. Maybe we will get a confirmation soon with their panel discussion at the San Diego Comic Con.
